Lenny is no longer around it appears.
Hmmm. L should answer herself but I know there's some she likes and would like to know. Some have gone now though so we missed the chance..sigh.
I think it's more a case of those I'd like to meet to see if my 1st impression has legs. @debE @WolfieGray @Nigel&Julie -Julie @Captain-Smith-and-Lady-Jane - Lady Jane....thats a start. Don't get me wrong, I'm a realist so just saying not expecting. One problem with all this is that for now L and I are erm.. a little 'grounded'. BIG thing is we now see in future we should say hello, take a chance, who knows....

The problem as I see it though is that people, I'm sure, have been fancying each other on here for ages or at least entertaining the possibilities of having fun with certain people but when the perfect opportunity to have a large meeting with lots of people attending a fun event presents itself what happens?
Except for the regular attendees, no fucker makes the effort to turn up !!
So I guess people must be content to admire from afar

My problem is two fold:
1) While I have no problem making the first move, does the recipient feel the same? I know, nothing ventured nothing gained, but how do I tell when someone is "being polite" in the hope I "get the hint" compared to someone that is legitiately interested in engaging with a view to take things further: I;ve spoken to several people over the years who have shown similar responses to my messages, but with completely opposite ideas on taking it further (ie "Yes please, I thought you'd never ask" and "Hell no, you're a nice guy but not my type!") lol.

2) If I mentioned names that could result in: a) the person/people that had no clue possibly preferring a more discrete approach b) people not mentioned but interested (and hoped I felt the same) feeling put out. Either way I potentially end up with hairy palms for the weekend :)

Trying not to complicate things, honestly

No not greedy but if i ever get around to meeting them and if they have partners i will make my mind up then on the bases of 1, chat interaction 2, sense of humour 3, how they interacted with me (none sexual) . I have never thought about how ugly a person is as were all different in some ways we all have our faults mine is being a little shy iam ok writing posts and comments on photos etc but i would struggle to say it to there face in real life. anyway thats my bit dont know if you will understand it but i know what i mean :)
