Swinging and bdsm do crossover and many clubs have facilities for both, usually in separate areas. Quite a few people seem to enjoy having sex on the bdsm furniture but would never take it any further than that, so I guess you can say that is a crossover.
We used the bdsm facilities at the last social, a first for us in a club, and we both enjoyed the experience and I believe so did a few onlookers. Maybe they were curious, maybe they will give it a go at home themselves but nobody complained or commented. In fact we were told by the owner on leaving it was the first time the club had actually had a female dominant and they asked when we would be going back. So yes the two crossover and as @Lips_Pearls says, provided nothing it taken to the extreme we believe bdsm in nothing more than a kinkier side of sex, as is, for example a gangbang.

I've always thought that there is a very strong crossover between BDSM and swinging but the BDSM 'Scene' do tend to look down their noses at swingers.

I remember the parties at Ceasars Nightclub in Balsall Common, there was a very definite divide. One of the issues I saw was the one of consent with a lot of the swingers not understanding the concept of power exchange. Then there were the purist BDSM'ers who'd insist that BDSM wasn't about sex, mind you that didn't stop them instructing a sub to suck their cock and even sharing subs.

It used to be a great weekend away. Ceasars Friday night followed by the Midlands (BDSM) munch Saturday afternoon and the BBB Sunday.

I seriously believe more sex acts go on at small BDSM parties than do at similar swinging get togethers.

Don't even get me started on how the 'best most experienced doms' prefer to play with new young subs all for the subs safety of course.

BDSM and Swinging seem to be absolutely ideal bedfellows (pun intended)

At their best both "activities" attract open-minded, sexually secure intelligent people.
The matter of trust is paramount in both BDSM and Swinging.

It is the norm for partners in both disciplines (another pun intended ) to have sex with people outside of their relationship which more often than not has a very positive effect on not only the sex lives of the couple but with the relationship itself.

My background is one of BDSM but, for me personally, I have over time drifted more towards the swinging side of things as that's where I started to feel most comfortable. .Mainly because I didn't have a partner with which to indulge my, pretty innocent by most standards, BDSM tendencies. And in my own personal experience, it's can be even more awkward being a single guy in a Fetish environment than it is in a Swinging environment.
I think a lot of us forget how horrible, for single guys in particular, it can be away from the loving embrace of SocialSwinging.Com

Agreed. We do try so very hard to be all inclusive and we’re advocates of single gents. But we’re also acutely aware of how it can be away from here - for single gents in all of this.
As I’ve said before - we can’t fix all of this, but we can help educate and help change things, one step at a time and one day at a time.

I have now found an immense attraction to the fetish scene, again, I think that is linked to swinging and BDSM, the lines are becoming more and more blurred and I love the fact that people of each 'kink' are accepting of others.
I generally dislike labels but do find them helpful to establish whereabouts someone is within the scene and once established the label is discarded.
