Love it? Hate it?
Think it's an overhyped day which isn't even really ours in the UK to celebrate anyway?

Do you even know what it's about and where it comes from? Why etc?

Or do you make sure you have extra cash to splash to make sure you get the latest TV at an absurdly low price..

I think it's an overrated day of BS stampedes for cheap stuff which mostly isn't genuinely worth it anyway. :rolleyes:
An American celebration which we have adopted through greed. Greed, anarchy, commercialism is what this is all about.

I agreed when some supermarkets pulled out because of shopping fatigue etc so no longer will be doing offers for today.

Traditionally in the UK - Black Friday was always the last Friday before Christmas where office workers, industrial workers, civil servants etc would go out for their Christmas parties and get uber drunk..:D

Agreed, most is hype, lots of old stock etc. I found last year that a lot of the stuff could be bought in the January sales for about the same price anyway. Now what can I buy that I really don't need :rolleyes:

Same... I've had about 30+ emails offering me all sorts.
Being a geek, I even got an email from scan. Do you know what they did?
They purposely advertised their products in USD!!! :eek: :mad:

Well they can f.. right off if they think I will lovingly fall for that shit.

Zavvi are the worst, must've had 10.
I don't even shop there, think I bought a present there once.
Unsubscribing doesn't seem to work either.

I understand it in America as it's the day after Thanksgiving and people are off work.
It's just another Friday here in the UK.

I am so not a fan of shopping. Would sooner shave my eyeballs than go shopping. Black Friday kill me now.:mad: is it me or do people not see that it's only a bargain a)if it's cheap and b)if you need it.lol :D I should say that this is looby's opinion and may not necessarily be a view shared by Lew. X

True though, people just seem to go mad and for shite they don't usually need and wouldn't usually buy!

It's like today, Cyber Monday.. why?
And it has knock on effects too! Twitter is absolutely dead. And it's quite too here, because okay people are recovering from the weekend etc.. But also because if people didn't spend enough on Friday, they're emptying their wallets now today online :p
