It's an individual choice I guess, you need something you fell comfortable wearing. I have one that goes around my cock shaft, one that goes around the base of my cock and balls and a triple that goes around the balls, base and shaft and a vibrating ring. I can't say which is best, I like them all and they all have a slightly different effect. The only real advice I can give is if you go for a metal ring make sure you get the right size, the "rubber" versions are also ok and easier to fit, especially the triple rings.
Just as a sugestion if you havnt used one before you could always try the thick wider elastic band it ight give you some idea of how it feels and you can experiment with it in dif places etc
