I think Taffy would be a better analogy - I'm sure you're all aware of the song that has real hatred behind it - and you don't have to go that far back in history to a time when Welsh people were second-class subjects in their own land, despised, hunted and down trodden by an English colonial machine.

I'd not heard of the song tbh. To ''welsh" on a bet has always rankled with me - implying that we're cheats and promise-breakers.
