Here's a question for you all.
Have you every recognised anyone you know from other walks of life that you then see on a site, if so how did you deal with it?
We have some experience of it, first couple we knew we just moved past and thought good luck to you, we're all hear for the same reason
Second one wasn't so simple as they started messaging us, not knowing who we were, initially we messaged back politely but not leading on, after a couple more messages and after getting over the initial thoughts of 'oh my god, we know them' we decided that it wasn't fair that we knew who they were but they didn't know who we were, so chatted to them online and told them that we had a confession to make and that we actually knew who they were and told them who we were, we then had a good old natter about everything swinging.
They had put their names down for a social (pub type one) but then backed out as they were nervous, we had been to a couple of the socials in the same venue a couple of times before so offered to go with them and introduce them to people. We met up with them and another couple we had met before through the site and had a meal beforehand and then all went to the social together. We didn't really need to introduce them to anyone else at the social as by that time they were more than comfortable enough to mingle by themselves and get to know people.
We're still friends now and keep in touch.
Did we handle it correctly, would you handle it differently or any other experiences like this to say that it'll all work out fine?
