The world of technology is going to go through the roof soon and the next big thing is just on the horizon. I'm talking about Virtual Reality or VR for short and while this will be in widespread use soon enough, the sex industry has already embraced it. First there was virtual sex, where people could go online and meet people in a 3D virtual world, then came the toys. The app controlled vibrator, the Fleshlight for men, but put it all together and you have a recipe for amazing fun. Soon you will not only be able to meet online but have real cyber-sex. See your partner, using a combination of VR and plug-in sex toys, it's going to feel like you are really there. That sounds fantastical but if you've donned a VR helmet or glasses, what you see is very real. If you think 3D is realistic when that spear comes out of the screen right at you and you actually duck, then this puts you right in the middle of it. If you like to get off to porn then this is like being in the centre of it. Imagine actually being able to see from every angle, Even famous porn stars can be your fantasy as they work with company's to bring them to life in a digital world, interacting and indulging. This is just the start, things are going to get more realistic as technology improves and it's moving fast. Ok, you can't beat the real thing and nothing can replace it either but it's just one more way of how sex and technology are making great leaps forward and I love where it's going.

I could buy a few years memebership to a club for the price of this tech at the moment and it would be a hell of a lot more fun. :D I can see VR has many uses but to be honest I think I'd just prefer to meet someone in person, no matter how good VR might be it will never match the real thing. It's a bit like saying you never need to meet someone, all you need is a smart phone with video/txt/email and you can keep in touch. I'd prefer to meet them in the pub. Anyway you look like an idiot wearing some of the VR kit. You may have guessed by now I'm not a fan (y)

I think it's a good-ish idea for those who may not really get anywhere in RL, but beyond that - it would be a no.
I imagine the next few generations would love it though!

No, that's fair enough. And yes I agree you would look silly wearing a helmet and the video I'm about to post does prove that but it's the actual reactions that are evoked by the wearers which is the interesting bit. I suppose until you actually experience it, no video is ever going to show you the full experience. I have the same reaction with Food based TV shows. How can you convince me it's good when my to cannot replicate the two most important senses in consuming food - taste and smell. But I found this interesting if it is a bit long at 30 minutes. But the last segment shows just how far we've come. I'll post it in the next bit.

Here is an indepth video - about 30 minutes long of how this industry has developed and how it's going to be used. I don't expect you to watch it all, I still haven't but it is interesting and the last part is a real eye opener.

What's interesting that it appears to be parallel in its development. As the girl says in the video "one of the first thing people are going to think of is, 'can we fuck with it?'" - in the end it will always come down to sex. The Internet, Smartphones, video, 3D and now VR

no we like to feel real moistness, taste real tastes, smell real smells and experience real flesh on flesh. don't think we are quite at that point yet and even then not sure if we would change !!

Like I said, I'm not suggesting for one minute it's a replacement. It's just another thing in the sex industry. There's stuff I wouldn't even go near but it's all about preference. Im just sharing info on what will be a big thing soon enough and seeing who's interested :)
