I remember when I first moved in with a woman and she made me chips and I said "Where's the black bits? My Mum's chips always had black bits."
And she replied "They're not supposed to have black bits. Your Mum needs to change the oil in the fryer." :palm::rofl:.

Everything me Mam cooked had black bits........ chips, fish fingers, onion rings, crispy pancakes, sausages, burgers, mash, gravy, scampi .......... peas and carrots :rofl:.

I used to adverse reaction to black pudding and pork scratching as a young one but must say its a aquired taste just dont ask me to try tripe
