I have a 7 week old adapted car. It has a hoist in the back for my wheelchair or mobility scooter. I think I need an extra adaption to help get me in and out when I'm on my own, as my carer can't always be with me. In the future, it's very possible I will need an automatic car.
I say that I'm rare, as I don't look ill or disabled. #ButYouDontLookSick.Com

Now there's a question, we used to own a car tuning/modifying business so have worked on a few oddball cars but not really owned many strange or rare ones. Best claim to fame is building and sending an engine and gearbox to run in a race series in Australia.

We used to run the one of the fastest fwd cars in the country but since getting the dogs our needs have changed a bit.

We're now down to just two cars for the first time in many years and just have a modified Audi A4 Avant Quattro and a bog standard Fiesta Ecoboost.

I think if we bought another project car it would either be a MK2 Escort for N (sold his GP 4 spec one for pennies years ago, doh) or another Navara or converted VW Transporter for C.

Next project is to convert a van into a camper

Think that may be our next project, Transporter to camper and dog van, much more likely and practical than my desire for an overpriced rally car as a toy that would get hardly any use.

I hate that :( but to be honest, I'd prefer not to look sick or disabled at the same time.
I'd prefer to look ill, then I wouldn't be judged as much. Comments of I'm just fat and lazy, or that I think it's Benidorm because I'm on a scooter. Nasty looks when I use a disabled parking bay, list goes on.

That's really not fair, there are so many 'invisible' illnesses that people just don't have a clue about.

I usually look absolutely fine, if a bit tired, according to most people. A decent amount of time I am fine now thanks to pacing and knowing my current limits, etc. but if I do something stupid or push myself too far I really pay for it.

I did the 22 pushup challenge the other week and managed it ok, unfortunately it took me out for about a week and felt like I could hardly breathe for a fair few days. My own stupidity, I know.

Oh did you now !! Love a Cossie  still have a couple tucked away .. :sneaky:
I was obsessed. Always went to local cruises, swapped all my blur and oasis posters for max power and fast ford posters. Even had a sapphire blue cossie on my bedroom ceiling to wake up to!

I have no patience to pace. If I'm running on adrenaline like I was at VA, I over do it and then like you, takes a week to recover, but I think it's worth it.

I own a 1947 Lanchester LD10. Only 3000 built between 1946 & 1951. Last check on the DVLA showed that only 54 still on the road.
My us still totally original, only change is it being convertered to unleaded.
