After speaking to someone a few weeks ago about having meets, I was surprised to see no verifications have been left.
After reading forum posts in threads about members here not meeting it got me thinking, if people do not leave verifications then members won't be able to get any feed back about these meets.
I do believe verifications are very important as it shows people are meeting.
You may have had a meet that didn't go as planned and either party could have been someone completely different in RL to what they are on here, I do think honesty in verifications is a must to let others be aware.
Verifications are also important from an administrative point of view, as it shows that the site is actually working for people.
Do you think verifications are important?

Yes and yes. But I think all verifications end up being nice. Although I agree with ppl should leave verification, there should be a way to differentiate between a "shit sandwich" and "I would like to meet this person " again type of verification. But I know I am asking for too much from ppl. But I ask because I and am sure everyone else is trying to weed through too much information.

We want to get verified on here purely to show we're genuine but to us that's the end of it's usefulness as everyone looks for different things so an amazing meet for us could be a terrible one for someone else. For this same reason we won't leave negative verifications however from our tone you will know if we will see each other again

I agree about verifications are always nice and I have never understood this, we have always left honest verifications but sadly people either haven't got balls or are just fibbers, i know of many meets that have gone Pete Tong and was utterly shocked when I read the verification, now there is a danger to this, if a person was violent or very rough and caused harm then the next meet should be aware of this.
This happened here and a couple came to us about this meet, the person was very aggressive but they left a raving verification, we removed it of course but it was never corrected.
Another couple had a meet with another couple and messaged us whilst they were on the meet panicking that the couple they met looked nothing like their photos and didn't know what to do, they still left a raving verification.
Another, single lady went to a social event, was left all evening on her own, she still left a brilliant verification.
It is very hard for us when members come to us with such concerns, we offer advice and tell them to be honest when leaving a verification but they don't so what can we do?
If you have a meet and it hasn't gone to plan or the person wasn't what you expected then please folks be honest about it, you have nothing to lose and you could be saving someone else from disaster or even worse.

We have never left a verification after situations like this more just personality clashes
Definitely think these situations should as a minimum be left blank but preferably negative ones

See miss @Pearls I didn't know of any such things but these are examples that I think ppl owe it to a community that we are part of and where ppl look out for each other. Granted, we are all not made for each other but a way to cut through the BS is definitely needed.

@Yorkshirecpl I agree with clash of individual personalities are something different but when it is something genuine then it should be mentioned.
We know of situations where police have been involved because of dishonesty and lies and nothing mentioned in verifications.

To be blunt anyone who leaves positive verifications after these situations is culpable if the next person has the same problem

Exactly and this is the problem but it will still continue as people can't be honest.
We have mentioned before we left an honest verification for a couple here once, they were not happy but it was the truth, on meeting them only Mr was present, no sign of Mrs, this was at an event, he wasn't happy but at the end of the day we had to be truthful, we have never had a bad meet so have left a verification that is honest but if we did have then it would be truthful what ever the outcome.

As for total honesty, if I left a verification for a member from the last time I saw them, and note it honestly, I know I will get slaughtered on here by the White Knights. So for peace I haven't said anything.

If it is genuine and you feel others should be aware then you should leave an honest verification.

Honesty is the best policy, if its a clash of personalities then fair enough, but as @Admin has said we need to be looking out for each other. Surely if its bad then an honest verification is better as it warns others? Luckily we haven't had to write a bad one yet. S x

I know it sounds contradictory, I don't give a shit but do . But only in the fact to keep the peace. Others have made it clear that they will (and have) jump to the defence without clear thought purely because they like them and don't see (or want to see) anything negative about them despite it being the truth.

Well the others are wrong and two faced then as with so many, be you and don't be someone you simply are not.
We also left another verification once about someone that wasn't pleasant but truthful, it didn't go well, but said person went on to meet someone else and the same thing happened, everyone believed said person over our verification until the same thing happened at another meet. Honesty is always best policy

Yeah that can be one aspect of a verification I suppose. In that sense you are verifying that it is a real person but it would not tell anyone "who" that person is or what that are like.
