At the club i went to last year, i'm sure there was a viewing area where men could go to do this...overlooking a room.
It's off putting thinking that they're walking around wanking x

Not my thing. I do know when we were at a club, playing in their dungeon, @Miss-Sexy-Legs had to ask some guy to back off as he was wanking and getting closer to me whilst I was tied to some of the bdsm furniture. I wasn't aware at the time but found the whole thing a bit creepy when she told me and to make things worse he seemed to be following us every time we went for some play in the dungeon. So not my thing but it didn't seem to bother others when they were playing. Each to their own I guess.

While I'm not familiar with what a "wank club" is if there is an official term, I am aware some people are into "wank meets" (as one guy put it: "Everyone invited, just put a dvd on and we just have a chilled time wanking, if you want mutual that's cool too") to which I thought "no thanks".

As for blokes walking around wanking, sadly this is neither new nor isolated to any one club, it's been going in for years and is down to a few people walking around d completely oblivioushiw their behaviour comes across to others as they are too busy thinking what they can get. And it's not just single guys either (though most common) as I've seen makes halves of couples do the same when their partners aren't about.

If you go to a club like the VA especially on a single guy night or the milf club then it seems par for the course... Especially with it being an open play club.. I guess there are no rules to stop them, it’s more about them understanding some form of etiquette.. I’m not saying every guy does this, most are respectful and move away if asked too... Certainly not a turn on for us at all but I guess a lot of guys are getting some form of satisfaction so it doesn’t really bother them... each to their own

But with there being no rules shouldn’t rules be put into place to avoid things. Especially if the general opinion is “it’s not for us” I’m not talking about stopping people from doing it but more about getting people to be more ‘polite’ i guess.

I don't think its so much as "no rules" but more of "but we're not hurting anyone", as osme of these guys would say. And while they would technically be correct, they fail to see that its off-putting. I dar say, I am yet to see any woman go "Wow, check out that guy wanking over there, is he coming closer? I might as well fuck him", and yet, many more guys continue :)

Some clubs do have very specific rules about single male etiquette because let’s be honest a lot of single guys (not all men whatever) are there to get their rocks off and don’t really care about how they do it. Like consent is a big thing in the swinging community and I think that should be thought about but it isn’t. Having clear guidelines with clear “punishment” for not following the guidelines had lead to much more pleasant experiences in clubs, in my opinion

A club that shall remain nameless had a real big problem at 1 time with some sections of our comunity not respecting women in the club. it got to the point if a half decent woman went to the play area she was followed by a gang of cock in hand morons who stood as close as possible to the woman whilst doing it or even crowding her if playing. It all came to a head when 1 gobby Yorkshireman lost the plot and shoved 1 of them over after telling him to back off many times. The door staff and the manager got involved and chucked the offender out. The regular couples then got angry and told the manager to do something about them or we would all vote with our feet. So guys if a club limits numbers of men who can enter on any given night this could well be the reason

I think there are options in place for people to take to handle this, there are couples areas etc. If someone doesn’t understand no then I’ve found they are dealt with swiftly in most reputatible clubs..
