I am positive your intentions is not to segregate. You could always just start a thread in the forum to help each other.
Exactly, and yes you're correct it wasn't his intentions (y)

Okay we - Stew and I, discussed this privately before hand and from what I can gather, the reason behind Stew's idea/suggestion was simple, but of course - it's not really as simple as that.. sadly..
Imagine the site a motorway..
We have the outside lane - the fast lane, the middle lane that gets hogged by people not wanting to go 100mph but happy to do 70...
and then the inside lane, notably used when on an incline by erm.. slower vehicles.. perhaps. ;) :X3:

The over 50's section would have been the slow lane if you like and the reason behind it was to make it a little slower paced for some of those who perhaps may not be able to keep up with the general pace of some of the forums.

However, as I said in the pm -
What I will say is this;
Everyone here is inclusive not exclusive. Everyone is equal. Be it race, colour, sex, sexual orientation, persuasion and so on.
As we're all equal, doing so will alienate anyone within this set criteria if it makes sense.
We wouldn't want people outed/excluded due to their age, even if golden swingers or not. ;)
To an extent I agree it would/could be a good idea, but we're all equal here and therefore I don't think it's fair to segregate anyone in such a manner.
I hope this makes sense?
So I agree, but at the same time don't think it would work as it would almost alienate people..

I do see the point and it would help for those who are slower on forums and sites, compared to those who are adept to using sites and social media..

To be fair, Stew's intentions are not to segregate - but it would happen of course without his intentions due to the nature of it.
I still personally do see the point, however it would be exclusive and not inclusive. Regardless of younger peeps being welcomed to that section or not.

:)

Erm..
A good idea? Or not?
Lovely that stew is having such input. X
My thoughts it will be seldom used.. people will wander off.. into other sections..
Maybe a section for new users?
Could be a similar idea..
Ease em in gently before I'm unleashed on em... ;) xx

True though and that's would could happen to the site with so many different sections, areas and whatnot.
It's already a little cluttered for my liking, but then I have OCD.. so.. :D x

Well both being the wrong side of 50 (him more than her and yes we both have saga car insurance only due to price  ) there are alot of members in our age bracket on here, there are also alot of members 10 years younger on here who would be happy to meet us (hopefully) what i'm trying to say is if we where in different section they may not look at our profile in the same way, thinking that we are happy to poodle along in the slow lane, where as in fact we are more than happy to venture in the middle lane and even into the fast lane if we have to ( admins motorway )

Indeed and I think, from a personal point of view, a stigma may form - "oh god there's a geriatric area on this site, stay away from the oldies" :D
And that just won't benefit anyone..

I may have miss sold my idea it's not to be a section for oldies to live, I saw it has an area that they or anyone else could dip into, so maybe a sticky forum post would achieve the same think IDK XX
Oh I know that, I'm just playing devils advocate too.. :p ;)

Quite a shame we only have 16 people voted so far !!!

I didn't vote solely on the fact that I feel it is not my place to say no. The way I see it, if there are enough who want it, then fair enough. Hence why I responded with an opinion rather than a negative vote. I really do see your point of view Stew however, I suppose my real point is that to keep things open and honest in here, which seems to be a core attraction of this wonderful site, benefits everyone. I just feel that creating a group which only a certain age group can see could possibly create clique. Again, I do not believe for one minute that that is your intention or actually crossed your mind. A sticky group as you mentioned could be the easiest and happiest for all option.

This is a tough one because I don't think it's age that is the factor in finding it hard to keep up on the forums or not knowing how to approach things.
I'm sure @Admin would confirm that initially I wasn't the greatest or most confident forum user but I persevered, a lot, & I think I do ok these days albeit there was a strong rumour on here that for a six week period I never slept while I honed my forum skills ;)

This is Sooooo true. 24/7 for 6 weeks straight. Jesus
All good ;) :D

less sophisticated sites,
It's really not complicated.
It gets to me, and the reason is for several reasons. One of the biggest; "I'm used to elsewhere"
Ah well, we're 2016. not 2006.
Get with the times,. speed up, catch up and learn the ropes..
It's not hard, you manage your iPhone/Android/Desktop device fine, but struggle to cope with a point n click menu?? Puhlease!!
(Stew this is not aimed at you...)

Get a grip,. read the links, read the PM and actually poke n prod. Experiment. It is NOT hard.. You just are not putting enough effort in.,...
LOL I had a message recently - " A single fem point of view of the site.."
wtf.. o_O

We've had and do have, many single females who know exactly what they're doing here on the site. They know how to chat, send PM's, send images, upload photos, upload videos - and chat on the forums.

The issue?
People cannot be arsed. #Truth.
Those who can be arsed, get somewhere here.
Those who cannot be arsed, post "I am finding the site confusing" "I need help and I don't know what to do"
Well bloody well take 2 minutes of your life to just TRY.... FFS it's not hard..
Bloody hell.. It's a site with members, member profiles, forums, chatrooms, videos, cams, a whopping gallery..
but no, we get "I am stuck I need help"
Really!?
Not bloody hard. get involved, stay involved, enjoy the site and stop acting like a goddamn 13 year old who has just found a sticky porn mag under a bush, on the way home from school.
Stroll on.

When someone said to me recently that they were struggling I asked how I could help, the response was "I don't like forums so won't use them..and by the way where are you from...! So you don't want to interact and you have not read my profile.....game over.....

Hi all, being on the wrong side of 50 I wouldn't want to be guided to the over 50 box, yes I'm I having probs navigating around the site but I feel I would miss out on meeting new social friends who don't care about my age, practice makes perfect then you won't miss out on anything u may of thought to try, there is always support from the team xx

Oh to be 50 again! However, despite being computer or software semi-illiterate, I don't find this site difficult to navigate, in fact seems easier than many. it looks very well thought-out.
