Thought I'd create a thread for those who are trying to lose weight, keep fit, healthy eating etc.
Perhaps we could support each other, share progress, healthy recipes, exercises and somewhere to moan if having a bad day.

I need to start losing weight, but have a huge weakness for chocolate. Any ideas how to cut down, or perhaps replace sweet things?

I know I'd lose weight if I ditched the chocolate, I might give this a go, Aldi and Lidl do good dark choc.
Thanks for the tip x

Good thread... unfortunately, I'm no help - I've got the willpower of a junkie in an unattended pharmacy!!

See that's me, too. Does my head in. I can eat healthy, but then ruin it with a chocolate overload.
Doesn't help that the only exercise I can do, is strengthening my core muscles.

Wow, you've done amazing! Well done.
I don't eat many carbs, just binge on sugary stuff.
I'm hopefully gonna be getting lots of help from specialist weight management and a couple of other professionals, then I can share the ideas on here.

Love this thread! Lost 1.5 stone by running - no change in diet at all - and still working on it. I did hear about a choc substitute that is good for you and tastes good - something about the freezer if I recall. I'll look it up. Good luck! January isn't a great time to start, but it's a lot better than never! :)

Well done (y)
Chocolate in the freezer? Think I know what you mean.
Yeah January not the best time to start, it's just worked out that way with all my appointments and crappy news I got today, so I must start. Being so obese is really not good for going under general anesthetic :cautious:

Yeah I have a bit weight to come off, Christmas well my eating got out of hand. I'll have to dig out my low calorie recipes again.

Oooh, would you share some for us?
I struggle with cooking, my kitchen isn't properly equipped for me, so I tend to just chuck stuff into my slow cooker!

I have lost about 2 and 1/2 stone over the last couple of years just by cutting down and work , I am quite lazy where exercise is concerned, don't do gyms or the like , no cafe breakfasts any more .... willpower is a problem I have a sweet tooth so it can be difficult ....
You just have to work at it pound by pound ...
still need to lose maybe another stone but that's going to require a bit more effort ...

Fantastic, well done (y)
I used to love going to the gym and fitness classes. Only gym I see these days, is the physio gym. I get all excited and raring to go, then my body seizes up.
My sweet tooth is my downfall. I could eat anything I wanted 10 years ago, now I only look at food and gain a stone!

I just stoped eating chocolate 3 years ago and it does change the things you can eat if you go with absolutely no chocolate!! Also I find if I don't buy junk food on a weekly shop then it makes it easier to go without it as I don't go out especially to get it.

We're both on our seasonal diet, but this time we're determine to see not through and keep off all we lose - normally we do very well but the summer holiday is the turning point, our willpower gives up and it all creeps back on from then on. Are really cutting down on food, Rose has gone back to being temporary veggie and we've both hidden all the alcohol - until Burn's Night at least, we've been invited to one at the end of Jan and not drinking at a Burn's Night is impossible!

We're not great chocolate eaters but have made sure we don't have any in the house - to avoid temptation.
