Absolutely as the saying goes, don't be a fool, wrap your tool !! But it's always nice to hear different opinions on a subject, it helps imo to broaden not only my own but perhaps others ideas and who knows, maybe someone has read this thread and thought " I'll get myself along to the clinic"
That's the thing I love about this site, the ability to have a frank and open discussion about something like this, where people will engage and not shy away because it maybe a hard topic of conversation.

The harder the topic, probably the more important it is to have that discussion.

I will keep this short and sweet. NOT
This is not intended to put the cat amongst the pigeons.

The piece of paper for a test is really only valid like when you have you MOT on a car at that point and ok and safe for the road you could drive out hit a pothole hit a kerb and then unfit to pass MOT. Same you are clear of any STI I have to say 24 hours max if you are sexual active with others.
When last tested and if 1 day, 7 days, 1 month 3 months past the risk is there.
I sorry to say and our opinion from experience, but there a risk after as soon as tests are completed.if you active in play(Next day)
I speak from experience and in the know of being told of many many situation over a 28 year experience in the fetish scene.
One reason why years ago some wore glasses too. The Porn scene and events I know the Fetish swingers team used to host and was privilege to have to Doctors part of the team used to bring test kits on the night event day. They had to pay £65 then to confirm STI Free( I am not completely sure of the price but fairly sure other half is asleep) that was also a responsible safe guarding duty of care issue as promoters shall one say and to cover The hosting event team too. Just in case of the play ground fall out and shouting....We got she got etc sure you all understand.
Your eyes are your weakest part of your body and for people to contract. Yes its happened!
Think how many enjoy ejaculation maybe how many do get a bit shot in the eye?
The common saying from many Gentleman Awe Erh darling let me come on your tits.
How many people suck a guy off but insist on a condom?
Common sense is needed.
I do not agree its only just from bareback and Yes I know from friends of how what they got and was treated because of.

So Peeps you can never be too careful never judge a book by its cover and yes keep getting checked as often as you can in our view when you exactly know you have played and yes your at risk.
We feel and know its a bit of a postcode lottery as in some areas you have walking in sti clinics with the full aids test too.
We use the Addenbrookes hospital we question how long will this be free still as very regularly visit by first names banter the lot ? also the local GPs refer you to clinic as a normal procedure if you went to them due to having unprotected sex one night stand with a stranger lol they do it as a matter of routine GOOD ON THEM Here. Elsewhere?
NO NO thats not cos they know the Fetishswingers team live in area either calm down everyone!

The Gps do know what we participate in tho lol. always hello how are any latest events party participation first question to us lol.
How many of you have discussed and told your own GP your a swinger? They always keep check on you too. They know the signs. Ok many like Mr F dont go to doctors hardly ever. MEN HUh!
Hey our Gps are amazing here and we would strongly recommend tell, share with yours.
We have been told by others we suggested to mention to there GPs and they have been gobsmacked to the response and none judged.
There not there to express judgement. Same as someone must/needing to give up smoking but do they say thats it we dont want to see you you shouldnt must not do it makes sure you dont smoke? No they carry on have a duty of care look after you just one example lol

There is also a family planning clinic which also offers the sti service and you can just book online. Also Cambs do offer free kits online to those 16- 25 i think and they just send samples back.
How many other places have the opportunity to attend get checked with just a walk in service?
We know many go to GP says oh yeh we swingers have multiple partners then the doctor has to refer first to clinic.
If it was readily available we feel with a walk in service total anonymous private & confidential we feel many more would attend and more often.
I stop, and hope I explained the best way I can to understand.
Good luck everyone stay safe have fun.
I always seem to write war & peace sorry huns

Thanks for this, pretty much most points covered a mind understood. Good on those that can discuss it with their GP, I've always found it weird as at my surgery it's a group of partners so I almost never see the same person twice (and may see them only once a year if a serious ailment, otherwise I just take ibuprofen and tough it out). As for GUM clinics, absolutely invaluable!

I will say though (and this may come across controversial), oddest experience I had at a GUM clinic was when the doctor wanted to inspext my bits ... And it was a female doctor in a hijab. I'm standing there thinking "I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure in your religion you can't have physical contact with any male that is not your husband or direct family member, not even shaking hands,... And I can see your wedding ring... So how do you explain to your husband your job entails handling the cocks and balls of complete strangers everyday?"

I will reply to this and disagree of you comment controversial and ask why you state?

As a professional I would expect one to wish to examine me fully irrespective of religion or race and certainly not question as in the case and way you have.

Re the surgery practices process, Yes your correct many many surgeries you see a different doctor each time, but you do have a dedicated assigned doctor registered with your name and you do have a right to book see the same doctor for consistency too, oh and not having to explain over and over. if you did see different each visit.
This is where you hear people say unable to get an appointment because they wish to see and stick to a certain doctor maybe taking care of you. I speak from this as in the know and experience of my health issue and meds now for 25 years.

Many do not know since around 2015 you now have the right to change doctors in your area, it in not like a catchment area only now. Again In the know my doctor was a partner of surgery she left went to other surgery up the town and I filled in to keep her signed where she works now and see her oh and only on a Monday & Thursday now too.
Many think you have to stay where you are. You dont, you can now go sign elsewhere even if a distance you can but the Gp practice discretion and may say home visits if needed may not be applicable but again now in our area you wish for a home visit there are 2 Gps & 2 paramedics so to improve patient experience. If your that ill life threatening in all honesty you call 999, thats where the problem is educating thise what is life threatening requires a ambulance what doesnt and partly why the NHS ambulances are stretched. Peol not all do not understand what 999 ambulance really is, thats why also now GO surgeries are introducing the paramedics as a Gp. Again speak in the know and Mr Fetish is actually a First responder on behalf of essex Ambulance service trained at the Essex Ambulance head quarters Broomfield Chelmsford

Now the last thing I must pick up on of what you said re hijab/religion and question why? She is a qualified doctor & professional!

If you was in a situation life or death she is there would you still ask yourself the same about what they supposedly can and cant do?
That doctor has studied past examines and last year was the year of the woman and still woman fighting for equality.
Male or female doctor who cares what religion and do and donts thet allowed.
Your conscious possibly life threaten about to could die she has to examine you? WTF her hijab got to do with anything and or question? She a woman so what? she is qualified would not be practising otherwise so what? Who why You be judge jury executioner and question this qualified professional doctor?

I leave it there huns and this is not meat to come across controversial either a little cross as a woman but getting cooler now lol.

Lots of love

We have a NHS to be proud of many many from the EU here now working contributing but do not fully understand what is a emergency and when only call 999 for ambulance. Same probs sorry to say in the poor overstretched unit if you attend AE.
EMERGENCY EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION NEEDED lol x Hence why call the doctor and now paramedics now working within the GPS and to dispatch and triage basically

Great thread. A few points from my experience:

NHS sexual health clinics are invaluable!
The staff I have dealt with there are so professional and knowledgeable. They have helped me feel more aware and comfortable regarding levels of risk and prevention / countermeasures.

Last time I got tested was by a drop-in NHS team at Purple Mamba! What a fantastic service, both on behalf of the medical team and the club owners. So convenient and less scope for feeling stigmatised in my opinion compared with a NHS hospital clinic (which are also great but obviously very public).

Remember that there is a 'window' for infections to develop, roughly two weeks I've been told (depending on infection type). So every time you get tested, it's only covering prior to a fortnight before the test. Any potentially unsafe sexual activity you had in the fortnight before the test is still a risk that may not be picked up by the test (infection could be incubating). Not cause for hysteria, just something to be aware of and to promote regular testing.

Don't get me wrong, I worry you may have misunderstood: I myself have no issue whatsoever who I am being seen by on my visits (gender, race, religion, orientation). As far as I'm concerned they are there in professional capacity and rendering a service, that's good enough for me.

The comment was more curiousity/confusion/concern as (I am made aware) muslim females have limited physical contact with males (ie, just the husband and her immediate family). As I understand it, a muslim female is typically not left alone in a room with a non-family member male in social settings. So with this in mind (as an outsider to the culture) I'm trying to reconcile how her husband is perfectly fine with her chosen profession and fully aware of the intricasies demanded of her on a daily basis.

Don't get me wrong, I certainly am not suggesting every muslim couple keeps to every single tradition, and for the health professinal I saw on the day, her husband very well could be aware and be fully supportive, however I'm just curious how many muslim husbands would be as cool with it if that was the case. I have no issue with it: she's doing her job and contributing to saving lives and for me that's all I'm invested in. Its merely a wonder.

Hi
my personal opinion is that being tested is to be encouraged and I would feel quite comfortable publishing my results on my profile.

I do however fully understand that someone suffering any sort of STD could, understandably, feel embarrassed and/or reluctant to share this information.

Antogs xx

Sexual health is massively important and heavily encouraged. Obviously various topics and threads get posted, but the “bareback meet” threads, are often met with a cringing tone by others.
Sexual health and checking it is imperative. Couples usually fall into the trap (stereotypical) of not getting tested due to long term partnerships. Uh uh. Get checked.
Incidentally I’ve just watched this by Aunty Beeb which I found quite interesting, especially for the younger peeps.
Sex, condoms and having 'that' chat with a new partner — BBC News

Safe sex has to be promoted more and more, within the lifestyle we choose to live.
Don’t be daft and don’t be silly, get a condom on that willy. :D
You heard it here first folks! x

Agreed. Ladies too... It’s a shared responsibility.
But men should carry them more. Contradictory I know, but it’s something chaps should do more of. :)

Actually, not sure there's anything contradictory about it: if you turn up to your appointment with your bag of tools - its not up to the person you're visiting to supply tools for you. At least that's the way I see it, if anyone felt different I'd love to hear why :)

Great post! As relatively newbies to this in all honesty it’s not something we’ve ever thought about as we’ve been together that long (god I feel old now!), but after a chat with @Horny_Essex_Pair, it’s something that we think is a bloody good idea! Booked in! Hope they’re gentle with me I hate needles!!!! S xxxx

Well done S, never any harm to get checked. It's not painful, you can do blood, urine or throat swab tests depending on how the testers are set up. They might warn you of a small scratch, but
hope they don't say it's 'just a little prick'! ;) xx

Just a complete wuss when it comes to needles  but it’s a valid point in all honesty something we never thought about but all forms of health are important especially the lady bits need to be in top form when shaking my ass! :p
