This rule is now implemented!
This is VERY important, you MUST now have a minimum of Two photos in the gallery in order to be able to view the gallery.

We know that this may cause unrest for members who don't have any images uploaded, but this has been voted for by an overwhelming majority and therefore it is only right we implement this, and therefore ensuring more safety for our members and thus creating a better atmosphere by not having people join who only wish to view the gallery.

This is a swinging site and NOT a free porn pic collectors site, of real people - our members.

All photos will be vetted by staff - mods/admins before approval and if they are not within our rules, they will be rejected.
Thus unless you have 2-3 photos we believe to be genuine, you will not be able to view members' photos but you will still have access to the gallery.

Thank you for your overwhelming response which is obviously something very important to you all.
You'll be pleased to know that this is now in effect immediately...

Thank you for your patience whilst I carried out tests and implemented this.

Hello sexy peeps.
I would like your opinions on pic collectors.
We all hate them, they're everywhere including here.

NO avatar, NO photos, NO information.. joins and then instantly views the gallery and instantly starts making comments on your photos.
We all know the type..

Do you think it's fair, right and appropriate that someone can just join and have no avatar, no photos, actually stay that way for their existence here, and have the right to view everyone's images...
Yes or no?

Tbh I think that people should make the effort and Im seeing it more and more, look at ours but there is nothing on your profile, Its wrong and no excuse's, Like I cant or I will get recognised, lol you can put a pic up of a hand, the excuses I have heard are crazy,

I have something else to add.
You have strict privacy settings over your photos too.. So you can set it to people YOU follow only, or people who follow you.
See it as this;
People you follow only; your friends
or people who follow you; people who want to be friends with you

Added to this, you also have the option to display images to registered users.
it's this which leaves you open to pic collectors.
So what we can do, is implement a system where;
User 1, must have a minimum of X amount of photos approved by staff and uploaded, in order to view the gallery.
This may seem a hardline tactic, but will ensure one further step which enhances security for you.

It annoys me tbh like a few members who have joined no info or anything and they just follow me to see my pics I have no control over it id like to be able to accept or decline a follow invite because they could do anything with my pics and other users pics or videos its not hard to save or copy stuff off websites x

Thank you and we've been talking about it for yonks but not sure about whether it works best for the community.
As for who you follow, that's entirely your choice if you decide to follow them or not - so thus making the decision if they see your images or not.
That ultimately is down to members to make the call.

You have tonnes of control over it. Probably more than you realise.
As I illustrated above, and I hope this helps;
So you can set it to people YOU follow only, or people who follow you.

See it as this;
People you follow only = are your friends
or people who follow you = are the people who want to be friends with you

So you can easily set your pics for ONLY people you follow.. And not for people who choose to follow you.
it's much more comprehensive and much better security for you, as you decide who sees your pics or not.

On top of that you can also keep them private for PM's only and on top of that again, you can even set them for specific people only..
So if you wanted myself only to see one photo - you'd set the share option to only share with specific users, and the name in the field = admin

very secure, very enhanced security.
All there for you.
This would be an added prevention to limit peeps from viewing the gallery unless they have a set number of pics.

Ahh pic collectors, the nature of these sites, I'm afraid. Can be Pretty annoying, some are harmless..
If young spotty teens want to wank over my/our pics so be it..
But it becomes a little unnerving, to say the least,when messages are received, oh I know you, oh your only a couple of minutes away Mmmmm, this to me is a whole different ball game. Now I may get shot down in flames for this.. But there are plenty of options on this site, to limit who views your pictures and who doesn't... Take your time don't just follow every Tom dick or Harry... Or every Mary mungo or midge for that matter you choose who you follow.(befriend) and choose the option for them to view only ultimately it's your choice.... If there profile or pics don't pique your interest, don't follow them......

Yes agreed and thanks for pointing out our good points haha but this is a prevention of a newbie simply joining and with no pic or info on their profile but can dive straight into the gallery. xxx

I agree and agree with the points of being plenty of options on the site, with just how extensive the privacy options are.
It's implemented to be very capable and very extensive making it easier to control.

That said, this is more about images which people choose to display publicly. So the real matter we're looking at, is should anyone without having any images or information themselves be able to view the gallery, when they've not added pictures themselves?
That's the main question.

As it currently stands, anyone can join and not enter any info or add any images, but is free to roam and browse the gallery and see the images that users have chosen to share within the gallery and not with set permissions based on following/ers

That's the question, do we enhance it so only users with images already upped in the gallery, have access or not?
In no way am I saying anything about what you've said, just elaborating more on what this is trying to explore.

I think its a GD idea to implement some conditions can also set a trophy for that to show they passed those conditions, I don't think it should just be on if they have x amount of images coz in theory u could just upload random images from the net so my suggestion would be, have a profile pic, entered certain info (example location) and have x amount of images uploaded if they don't meet these then they are taken to a page that shows what they need to do to pass

We have loads of options to play with, and I have many ideas to manage this - we have an overwhelming majority PRO with the staff, but it's heavily dependent on members and whether it's something you want implemented, or indeed not..

first point; not as easy as you may think. As all images are personally checked by staff before being approved. And believe me, we all have a keen eye for real or fake pics.
So that should allay that for you..

The rest?
This is something else I am considering, but we want to see how this goes first. If it still doesn't work, the other options are X amount of posts - or even an intro post first.. Avatar/profile pic, plus the given amount of images.
That said we don't want to be too heavy handed, however we all agree that a certain level of validation and 'strictness' to enhance privacy, should be implemented.
I have many ways on doing so, it's whether we should....
Ethics doesn't come into this one either.

Maybe that's a bit harsh, but if they're genuine they'd surely comply. I know writing profiles is a pain in the arse, but it's not really hard or too time consuming if we're tbh?!

Well dya know what Miss FLC?
This was one of the options I considered when I first started building and one of the things we considered when we went live..
Because it instantly weeds and whittles out the fakes and pic collectors.

@meet_the_fockers the option(s) I am considering is this;
You MUST have a minimum of 3 x images before viewing the gallery.
As it stands, from the outside we all have question marks on our avatars. No one can view member cards (postbits) no one can view the rest of the forums besides the public section and no one can see images.

however, Jack Jones can register now, not put ANY info - avatar - images etc OR posts and can view all the sexy pics in the gallery that aren't set for friends or followers.
We are deciding if we should limit this and so you have to have at least 3 images - or posts or something up, rather than be a wanderer coming in and simply getting pics from a free selection of pics in our gallery.

It's something that IMHO needs addressing and basically we are adding restrictions.
Why should peeps view your images when they have none, no avatar and nothing on their profiles - just to be able to PM you then; hey sexy nice pics.
This is what has been brought up and why we're talking about it with everyone.

I'm all for deleting non active members within a given time for not writing profiles or even getting verified.. But that said it could also be deemed detrimental to us.

Ultimately we want this site to continue to be a swingers site, for swingers.!
Not fakes and pic collectors who are 'new' to the scene, who register then go straight to members' videos and photos.... xx

PS the long term effects of this means, more genuine swingers will be here which in turn means more genuine swingers will want to be here.
Filtration if you like..

I do try, although usually only people's patience?! Lol.

I myself can't see how it'd be detrimental to the site as a whole. The problem with the other site I and a couple of others I know is that people can be there for as long as they like without any rules to deter them. It's bloody riddled with fakes. Surely it's better for people to know that your site is full of genuine people. It'll also make it easier for genuine newbies as their chances of getting spoofed by one of the above fore mentioned fakes.

Surely therefore it is better to have a reputation as being harder to join. Because this will also mean that folk won't have to deal with the fakes like on all the other sites. If folk are truly genuine, I'm sure they'd adhere and agree?!

It's more about the greater good and keeping the members already here. Which the other sites in my opinion are unable to do.

I like it here, it's friendlier, there's no bitching that I've witnessed so far, everybody respects everyone else and their opinions and I for one have no intention of going anywhere for a while yet. You've done a sterling job so far, but ultimately you have to do what you think is best for your site.

But ty for asking us the users what we think. I don't know anywhere else that does or would!

Well Miss FLC, you're on my wavelength and @Pearls too to be fair..
The whole point is to make this secure, safe, safer and better as a whole for our lifestyle and community therein.
We actually want it stricter and hard to join. Why? Because it will as you rightly pointed out - it will deter fakes, timewasters and spoofs.

We (Pearls and I) want the site to be exclusive. Too right we do.
And when I say exclusive I mean it in every way you can think of. Why and to who?
because it's safer more secure and exclusive to and for swingers.

Agreed, the other site and other sites have few rules really, and therefore simply allow any man and his dog on there - and do allow a LOT of shit to simply go on.
We don't - I won't!
We/I want what's best not only for the site, but for you. For our members. For our clubs.. We want the best and if it means constantly working away at things to better provide and achieve what's best for us as a whole, then work I/we will and we will adjust amend and change things.

From the start we wanted this to be for swingers and for our community and while we're growing, I am always vetting things, keeping an eye, checking things.. Adjusting things, adding more features - it's not a site that's sprung up and will go down just as quick.

If adding deterrents and preventions better serves our community and better serves you - then I am all up for that, 100% unequivocally.. and with determination to get it right.

I spoke with a club yesterday who couldn't believe it when I replied 'because I enjoy it and we need it as a society' - to his question; "How do you monetise it and why do you do it?"

No, there's no bitching and since March - here's our naughty stats;
We've removed ONE flame thread and banned 5 people. Two of which were ex-staff who I caught red handed doing some naughty things... One thread FLC... One!

@Pearls and I have discussed it for quite some time and she was getting very concerned, so we put it to the staff and once I had what I needed from the staff, I felt it only right and fair to put it to you guys as this is YOUR site.
As such I firmly believe you have a right to have a say on whether we do such things as this.

So you are most welcome, and I am very grateful to have such friendly, welcoming and warm members such as yourself and yourselves here.
