Pic Collectors.....

To put you in the picture, pun intended.. I've already started this and started testing things but the issue here is users cannot access the gallery to upload images, when we don't allow a view permission.
So I am currently working out if we base it on time here, posts, and even trophy points, also whether to include or not whether the user has a profile pic or not.

The other option is for me to build another 'gallery' but only for the first 3 pics, say for example introduction pics.
Then the gallery is opened up.

If you are happy to exclude posting images, I can base it on say 24-48 hours of being here, plus x amount of posts etc.
With a mention of all this in a welcome message that all new members receive upon joining us.

And can assure you we will be implementing this.
Whether we restrict the gallery until new members upload images, or implement a wait system of 24 hours along with a minimum post count, this will be done - you have my word.
As such this is top priority on my well known to-do list.

As such, we do suggest that you do kindly upload your own photos, before browsing the gallery and making comments on member photos. We would certainly support new members being required to upload a picture or 2/3 before being able to view others pictures. We prefer not to limit (genuine) profiles viewing us by putting on the filters as sometimes you want to see what people look like before following/liking/messaging etc. We would also support all profiles having to complete a certain amount of information about themselves to also help with the fakes etc maybe? This would drastically reduce the fakes and picture collectors.

Of course, no one wants to really limit their profiles - but that said, I/we think it's totally unfair on genuine people here to have to face people commenting on their personal photos or in PM's about them, when they're dealing with a faceless account and an account with no info - thus being a complete and utter stranger to them, as there's nowhere to connect with recognition etc.

Exactly that, we've spoken to a lot of people and had feedback here as you can see, and not one person/couple has said - Hmm I don't think we should do this.
Everyone supports it, so it IS to be implemented but I am having an argument with the rules at the moment. Because how can anyone upload images to a gallery that they cannot see?
So what I am going to do is implement a way where members can see the gallery but not 'established' member images, until they upload their required amount - 3 etc.

This will definitely whittle out the pic collectors and fakes.
We don't have many thankfully, but they are here.... xx

This is VERY important, you MUST now have a minimum of Two photos in the gallery in order to be able to view the gallery.

We know that this may cause unrest for members who don't have any images uploaded, but this has been voted for by an overwhelming majority and therefore it is only right we implement this, and therefore ensuring more safety for our members and thus creating a better atmosphere by not having people join who only wish to view the gallery.

This is a swinging site and NOT a free porn pic collectors site, of real people - our members.

All photos will be vetted by staff - mods/admins before approval and if they are not within our rules, they will be rejected.
Thus unless you have 3 photos we believe to be genuine, you will not be able to view members' photos but you will still have access to the gallery.

Thank you for your overwhelming response which is obviously something very important to you all.
You'll be pleased to know that this is now in effect immediately...

Okay thank you for the response @SwindonSwingers but to clear a few things up;
You can be creative with your pics - you don't have to include face pics. This is significant for those with privacy concerns, you can upload other pics besides faces.. As long as they're real and authentic it's fine.

This rule does not apply to Staff (obviously) and VIP clubs as they're clubs and therefore need to have access for all sorts of reasons..

Thank you again for the kind words @SwindonSwingers - this will help a lot of people and tbh no one has disagreed with it at all, every single person I have spoken to about this? They've all been in agreeance as it will only serve the site and our community better in the long run. xx

I'd go with @Lace and @D7andFLC - if there is no attempt to write a profile or add photo's then delete them after x days. If they can't be bothered to make some effort to build a profile then why are they on the site? You guys do an excellent job which is why we all enjoy being here and I'd like it to stay that way - delete the *******'s

Well I personally think you should, I really cannot see any reason why a profile should remain empty after a few days. As for wanting to be incognito, fine just restrict access to your photos.

Thank you very much. There's loads of ideas we have and different things we can do. One of the most critical things for us is safety and privacy for all...
So this situation had been eating away at us for a long time, and we thought okay put it to the staff.. Not one no.
So from there we asked you lot and it was all good feedback where no-one opposed it and everyone was more than happy to have this rule in place. 2-3 images before seeing the gallery. So we did, tested it, had some help from a friend of mine to go through the motions and here we are!

Also, we have to thank everyone on the site who helps with votes and feedback, and I must say almost everything that has been voted on, asked for or suggested - has been done.

We all hate them, they're everywhere including here.

NO avatar, NO photos, NO information.. joins and then instantly views the gallery and instantly starts making comments on your photos.
We all know the type..

Do you think it's fair, right and appropriate that someone can just join and have no avatar, no photos, actually stay that way for their existence here, and have the right to view everyone's images...

Exactly, and this is one of the main reasons we've done it Miss Biba.
Why should an 'invisible' profile be able to do this? It makes most people uncomfortable regardless of being a swinger(s) or not!
it's just not right.. So by adding this one more step, we're effectively encouraging people to become a bit more 'real' here.

Adding face pics for verifications has long been a hot topic for us. As it will again, reduce the time wasters and fakes.
It's an ongoing thought process of mine in particular and I wouldn't be surprised if this is not implemented or something similar, at some point in the future.

We want this to work for swingers. it's not a f..k site (well it is but you know what I mean) and not a site where people treat it like POF (And I will say it publicly) or like Fucked And Broken but with the belief that they've joined a swinging site = instashag.

At the end of the day - I want, we want... This site to be strict and fair for swingers in the lifestyle. This was always the main aim. To be a TRUE swingers site.
Because I was sick to the back teeth of elsewhere and their lack of ethos, management and support for those of us who enjoy what we do.
But we want it to be strict (I say the term loosely) and exclusive for swingers, where we become the place where people want to be - people want to get in here because it's so well moderated, trusted, cared for and worried over.

That has been missing for a LONG time in our lifestyle.. But not anymore.
I say it humbly but we appreciate everyone's input and everyone's position here. We know we're still in our infancy, but look at what we're achieving? Look at where we're going?

Our main concern is your safety and quality not quantity.
I just hope it is reflected with our ethos our stance and our work ethics.

But what we don't allow is self delete. This prevents one of the biggest issues faced elsewhere; abuse, delete, return, abuse.

Fab have a picture verification system which works well.. They however Let non verified people on without profiles and it has become an infestation of abuse and fakes.
If verification were insisted upon and profile pictures it would reduce the volume of idiots.
It is bizarre how you can run two systems without a clash.
A ban on cock pictures as a profile would also be welcome.. Very few cocks are photogenic after all

Personally I've never gone back to Fab for the reasons @Biba says and have to agree with the comments on the profile pics - be that male or female.
